Closing ceremony FIDE World Cadets, Youth Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship 2023 finished in Batumi at Hotel Euphoria. Georgia has repeatedly hosted similar championships. More than 450 boys and girls from 35 federations competed in under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 years old age categories (girls and open to all). After 6 days and 11 rounds of competition, all 120 medals were awarded to the best youngsters in each group.
On the same day, the fifth round of the Champions Match was played in the conference hall of the Legend Hotel in Batumi.
In the fifth round, Ukainian players, Mariya and Anna Muzychuk, had the white pieces.
Mariya Muzychuk – Nino Batsiashvili (0.5-0.5) The game started with the Sicilian defense. After 53rd move of White, the participants agreed on a draw. But black could gain a advantage in the 38…Nc2! move.
The World Cadets & Youth & Blitz Chess Championship 2023, organized by FIDE and the Georgian Chess Federation, kicked off at the Euphoria Hotel in Batumi with an opening ceremony.
The blitz competitions in all categories are 11-round Swiss tournaments with 3-min + 2 second increment time control. The event brought together 426 participants from 35 countries.
On June 9, the FIDE World U8-18 Rapid and Blitz participants had a rest day. Three interesting activities were held during the rest day.
1. The participants visited Batumi Botanical Garden, learned a lot of interesting things about it and got acquainted with Georgian culture.
Batumi Botanical Garden is characterized by specific and diverse physical-geographical conditions. Since 1998, the Batumi Botanical Garden has become a member of the International Plant Protection Council (BGCI) of the worlds botanical gardens.
On the same day, the fourth round of the Champions Match was played in the conference hall of the Legend Hotel in Batumi.
After a rest day, the participants of the World Cup ended the game in a draw.
The Round 5 of the Champions Match will start on June 10 at 3 PM local time, with the Ukrainian players having the white pieces.

The Championships will be held according to FIDE tournament Rules and Laws of Chess and will be played using the Swiss System with 11 rounds. Time control for the rapid championships will be 15 minutes plus 5 seconds per move starting from move one.
On 5 June, In Batumi In the conference hall of Hotel "Legend", the opening of the “Champions Match” and the first round was held.
Before the start of the game, the participants were greeted by: Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara Maya Khajishvili and Director of Special Task of FIDE, President of the Georgian Chess Federation Akaki Iashvili.
From June 5 to 11, the "Champions Match" event started in Batumi, organized by the World International Chess Federation "FIDE" and the Chess Federation of Georgia.
The tournament will be held according to FIDE rules. Each of the matches will consist of six classic games. Time control: for each game is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
